They provide light. Put some scent spray on them and you might actually see the animal before you shoot it.

We found the cause of the crash, it was related to pintails. We now removed all pintails from all trophy lodges, they'll be sitting in your trophy lodge inventories for a while and the crash should be gone. We are going to deploy a fix for this in the patch next week, after it you can place your pintails back.
