Re: Crash Update - Workaround Test

Only Alena or someone else at Expansive Worlds can confirm if the workaround will be included in the patch. If it is, great. If not, then the patcher will need to be run again (or the replacement exe file will need to be downloaded again). If that is the case I will update the links in the OP so the files being downloaded include patched version of the -new- executable (after the patch).

I renamed the original.exe and saved to my desktop, do I just need to un-name it and swap back out before the patch?

Sorry if this seems a dumb question.

Yes, if you took a backup of the original exe file, then all you have to do is move it back to your game folder before the patch. Just make sure you over-write the existing "patched" exe file, rather than create a second copy of the file.

The patch will include the fix that has been suggested and discussed here. We'll be monitoring the performance and crashes closely. In case things get broken, we'll have to revert it. But fingers crossed.

Thank you for the head's up.

Does anyone know if this patch has occurred? The last post by Alena about it was almost 2 hours ago. I don't want to re-install the old executable, then find out when I launch a game, there is no patch yet.
