Status Update 14th November 2013

Post by Björn Öjlert »

http://news.thehunter.com/status-update-62/

Edit:
We've discovered a bug with how wound time is recorded that sometimes lead to very unrealistic results. We are working on a fix that should be ready for release tomorrow.

Since wound time affects Harvest Value and harvest value is used as score in the Hemmeldal Cull competition we've decided to remove this competition until this bug has been fixed and we can have a fair competition without broken results.

Sorry for the inconvenience, happy hunting!

Edit2:
We've released another patch that should fix the wound time bug but we've decided to put the competition on hold until we are confident that no more broken data is sent to the server. We will monitor harvest values during the weekend and if we discover no more problems the competition should return sometime next week.

This looks OK, although not sure how transparent it is, will have to get more familiar with it first. Personally I would still like to see something like I proposed here http://forum.thehunter.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=47627. It is very clear to all how it works although this new system does appear to have some merit.

This is wonderful, but right now there is a serious issue that will affect it. Lung shots are currently allowing the animals to run 250m . . . they drop faster with intestine shots, which we all know is definitely not the ethical choice. Will you be taking a look at the lung shot issue so that they will reflect more accurately with this new scoring system?

We're looking into it and trying to come up with the best solution possible.

If only the Devs would fix the weapons/hit box bugs then maybe this might work. Or the famous not reading the hit at all bug hmm. So many bugs in the game and they put this kinda stuff out. what a joke!
