Photo of Byzantine coin
Been trying to snap a photo of one of these things for ages. Never had a good look at one since my itchy finger usually hits the huntermate as soon as I hear it beep.

Re: Photo of Byzantine coin
Neat finds, I've picked up a few coins and pots myself walking around the EHR but I seem to share the itchy finger trait. I've never actually seen most of the stuff I've picked up. I wouldn't mind seeing pictures of some of the other collectibles if anyone has any.

Hah, the runes on the top of the coin reads: EWORLDS -> Expansive worlds! Talk about attention to details!
But this actually proves that the coin is NOT byzantine, but norse! Damn, I really have too little to do...

Here's some I got laying around, still need to snap a photo of a shark tooth and silver dollar, but I hate RB too much to make much effort.xOEDragonx wrote:Neat finds, I've picked up a few coins and pots myself walking around the EHR but I seem to share the itchy finger trait. Re: Photo of Byzantine coin
Byzantine coin!? Aren't those runes I see?
This is a 9th century Byzantine coin
Allthough I know that by the tenth century the Varangians had trading networks and merc'd themself out to the Emperor, I find it hard to believe that the Byzantines actually made coins specific for the Vikings... what would that text say? In God we trust?

Indeed they are. As I wrote a bit further up, the runes on the top of the coin reads: EWORLDS -> Expansive worlds!SPRK85 wrote:
