That is a very good start for "400"-class elk, Djehmli.
Excellent catch, Stan, especially after running back to tent for shotgun, tracking, spooking and all the rest. Big stags are sneaky ones.

Here's an admission. I was hunting geese, so I had a shotgun..even had slugs in my inventory in case something wandered by during a lull in the flocks. Somehow I thought the bonus requirement for David's comp was 75 meters heart shot. So I went and got my .300. When I got to the track, I thought I'd better check. Crapola, I had the required weapon and ammo already! Had to take the .300 back and take out the 10GA again. Ask DYEUZ, I'm the ditzziest hunter in the EHR.

Lovely trophy animals everyone! So I took a bit of a break for awhile. I came back and had an awesome hunt the other night with BNB on WRR. (It took me a few days to remember to post these up. ) I ended up getting three personal bests this hunt. A bison, a polar bear, and an arctic fox. The poor little fox was a big surprise because I was just testing out how bad the .17HMR worked on them at a distance. I didn't really bother to check what the score guessed. So I ended up shooting the poor thing three times. When I picked it up and BNB started chattering like crazy in my ear. I was like, "What? Oh wait...that's a big fox!"
