Put things in order with nicnames
I propose to the nicnames of users with Hunter Score 0 and who have not played for more than one year to add _AFK so that new users can use interesting nicnames, because now almost all interesting are occupied and mostly by dead players.
Thanks

Interesting idea. I think they did that a while ago, but it might be time for another "purge".

And what happens if that AFK player decide to start playing the game after a year?!Ak76 wrote:I propose to the nicnames of users with Hunter Score 0 and who have not played for more than one year to add _AFK so that new users can use interesting nicnames, because now almost all interesting are occupied and mostly by dead players.

When I create my account, I play for few minutes then quit the game without any kills and I came back to the game and hunt my first mule deer after about 2 years!
So, that would not good if I see _AFK after my name!

1. Cry
2. To shoot yourself, because it is impossible to continue living with AFK
3. And so on, depending on the mental balance
You came back and asked to change your nickname, right? )

I think that those who return will be able to survive if they see {nickname}_AFK or simply {nicname}_ (it does not matter).HD_Artworks wrote:And what happens if that AFK player decide to start playing the game after a year?!Ak76 wrote:I propose to the nicnames of users with Hunter Score 0 and who have not played for more than one year to add _AFK so that new users can use interesting nicnames, because now almost all interesting are occupied and mostly by dead players.

I'm sure they do not even remember which nickname they registered years ago.
Such accounts hundreds of thousands.
I can quickly find hundreds of examples if necessary.
Several:

The whole dictionary is occupied by those who have never played - who tried and they did not like the game for some reason.
Those who return in years - an insignificant number and they have nothing to lose, they do not have points - they can register again or ask for a new nickname from tech support.
You did it, right? ))

I doubt this is a feature we'd ever see. Why would EW want to create pain points for potential returning customers? Makes no sense to me.

I don't know that you playing other online games or not. All online games works like thehunter. If devs add _AFK to the dead players's name, this is exactly like they put a wall between them and other active players. And this feels so bad when someone came back to the game after a years and see _AFK on his name! And he can't change his username to the old one because someone took it after his name changed to "username_AFK"!Ak76 wrote: Options that will happen if he returns::

Yes, I change my username but not after I came back to the game. I played for about a year with my old username then I decided to change it because:Ak76 wrote: You came back and asked to change your nickname, right? )

- The old username was hard to pronounce.
- I change it to this one to match it with forum username.
Maybe some of them forgot their username but those who want to come back to the game, will remember their name.Ak76 wrote: I think that those who return will be able to survive if they see {nickname}_AFK or simply {nicname}_ (it does not matter).
I'm sure they do not even remember which nickname they registered years ago.
And IMO, changing username of a player(Active or dead) without permission is against the rule of any online games!
And this will make players mad!
I see most of them too. But this is a online game and players comes and go.Ak76 wrote: Such accounts hundreds of thousands.

EW or any other companies have to keep their information untouched and safe!
P.S, this all was my opinion and could be wrong! But I still don't like to see _AFK after my username!
I think one of the DEVs member can answer this better!

Those who return in years can register again. It's not a problem. It makes no sense to keep in the database people who never return - their 99.9%Hawkeye wrote:I doubt this is a feature we'd ever see. Why would EW want to create pain points for potential returning customers? Makes no sense to me.

Re: Put things in order with nicnames
"someone" should have been taught as a child to deal with disappointment. This should not make anyone feel that bad. particularly if they abandoned the account without using it, or only used it for a very short time.HD_Artworks wrote: I don't know that you playing other online games or not. It's not against any rules, anywhere that I know of. In fact...HD_Artworks wrote:Maybe some of them forgot their username but those who want to come back to the game, will remember their name.

As mentioned, this has been done once. And I have no reason to believe that it won't be done again, eventually. In the TOS that we all agreed to, EW wrote:The Company may terminate your membership, delete your profile and any content or information that you have posted on the Site or through any Platform Application and/or prohibit you from using or accessing the Service or the Site or any Platform Application (or any portion, aspect or feature of the Service or the Site or any Platform Application) for any reason, or no reason, at any time in its sole discretion, with or without notice...

IMO, old inactive accounts, especially those with 0 HS, no achievements, and no hunt history should just be deleted rather than renamed.
Those with very short activity and then abandonment should be renamed.
And if after an extended period of time, 1 out of the thousands of players with inactive accounts wants to come back & play again, it's simple enough to ask to have the name changed.
I can understand not liking it. I probably wouldn't "like" it either and would immediately request a change. I really can't imagine being even a little upset about it though.HD_Artworks wrote:P.S, this all was my opinion and could be wrong! But I still don't like to see _AFK after my username!
