Add a cart to the shop for discounts depends on the amount of items

Post by Tabbat »

Hi all,

had this idea for a longer time and would like to share it.
The problem is players that stick for longer time to the game has no advantage when new items introduced to the game and only gets a discount inside a bundle with other items they already own.
When i played iRacing some years ago they had a cart and the more items you had in the cart the more was the discount.
e.g.
5 items 10%
10 items 15%
15 and more 25%.

Today i bought the "duck comeback caller" as a single purchase because i already own all the other duck callers.
New players that don´t own any or maybe 1 duck caller can buy the bundle with the discount and have an advantage.

Player that stick longer to the game maybe need other stuff like more tents, tree stands, bait and so on.
Then it would be great to have a shop system with a cart that gives you a discount that depends on the amount off items.
e.g.
"Wow two new caller, i want it!"
add 4 other items the cart and get a discount.

New players buy the complete caller bundle and get a discount.

Both have a discount on the new item.

Sorry for my bad english i hope you get the point what i mean.

regards Tabbat

It's been suggested many times, and it's still a great idea. ;)

More choices, or an open quantity field for purchasing em would be pretty cool too.
It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!

It is a good idea, just not a trivial thing to implement. I covered it in a post I wrote a while ago here and as Tod said, many others have suggested it throughout the years. It would be the perfect way of offering what is effectively customised bundles. But yeah, it's a pretty big job.

Apparently I make lousy coffee ;)

Nah, just joking around. It was only ever intended to be a short term arrangement. Plus, like Chuck said, purple is so yesterday. Orange is where it's at :)

Maybe have it be a purchaseable feature?
