Aiming tutorial:Shooting the pocket

Post by Kache »

When an animal broadsides us it is that shot from heaven, but when they are coming at you, walking away, moving uphill or down it complicates the shot.
A simple real world aiming technique is the pocket shot. This method takes advantage of the general anatomy of all the 4 legged animals in the game.
In this vid I discuss and demonstrate the theory and then we take it to the field and drop some animals via application.
While aimed towards archery in this vid, the method is valid for all rifles. pistols, and slugs.

Due to some questions and the positive response to the first vid I have done a second video that is a Q&A and advanced concepts.

Excellent video. Being a long time player doing a lot more hunting and less tracking.
New and old players alike will learn a lot by watching this video. +1 times 100.
Well done!!

Thank you Kache for a great explanation video I been doing a lot of in the pocket kills for a while now it is great when it is a 1 shot and dead where you shoot no tracking, but you helped out for me anyways in your explanation on the odd shots uphill or uneven ground, the only thing I still need to practice on is getting used to getting them shots in the pocket with bow, especially the 5 pin and understanding it, rifle and that I don't have much of a problem finding the pocket shot in bow though I do, guess because I don't do enough bow hunting and the understanding of the 5 pin system on the bow as well how to use it, but thank you for the help and look forward to watching more and taking it to the field or maybe get a chance to hunt with you,
