Pheasant Tutorial - Shooting the Birds

Post by HooCairs »

A few folks had mentioned that they had problems hitting the birds in the Pheasant Tutorial. I made a few movies that give an idea where to aim.

Video 1
Video 2
Video 3

I did this a few times and one time I hit four birds with the first two shots because the birds take off so close to each other. Unfortunately Fraps stopped recording while doing this.

You might have noticed that in video 2 there was only one shell in the gun when I started shooting. Currently when restarting the tutorial the gun in not fully reloaded. This bug is known to EW and will be fixed.

[offtopic]Nice videos! You should make more![/offtopic]

I think this will really help the new players hit pheasants as I have noticed many of them trying to aim right on the critters in flight. Goodjob!

Thanks BeardCollector. I am not good at video making. All I have is the free version of Fraps. It stopped recording most of my videos before I was done shooting. I tried different settings but nothing resolved this.

Does anyone know why it took almost two days to upload the three vids to Youtube? My upload speed is 1000 kBit/s and the size of the movies are between 160 and 190MB.

Strange..... Are you doing anything else online at the same time it is uploading? That will make the upload speed go to a crawl. Try uploading and while it's uploading go watch TV or something so it will have as much bandwidth as possible. Try this: http://www.ehow.com/how_6017145_acceler ... loads.html for tips on making them upload faster.

unless your capped throttled during certain times.

shooting phes is easy you just need to practice. key is to focus on one target to start off with then go for multiple birds as you get better.

pump action shotty is best for most kills .

Why dont you try Afterburner Beta v. 9? This is also free, and the recoding time is unlimited.

I have tried Afterburner a while ago. The version I have records all PC audio, not just from the game, so I had background noise in the movies. They are on version 2.1.0 now. Does anyone know if I can select the audio sources there?

The only options regarding audio are
Enable audio capture
Downmix multichannel audio to stereo

In the version history it says
Audio stream capture and additional video capture related enhancements are coming in future versions.

@HooCairs
I think Afterburner is recording what goes to the speakers, so if you have other audio playing while gaming, it would record that, too... unfortunately. Is that what you meant with "background noise"?
