ok so rather than doing a 60 gig video of a whole hunt ive done screenshots at vital points from start to finish of a route i often use which yields good animals.

i will explain as each shot is done why this and that and i hope it helps Hunters like to get a trophy animal! some goes against what alot of hunters say in game well if not sure give it a try im sure youll be satisfied with the results !

shot 1

Image

this is at the start of the north lodge. you walk straight out and there will be a little junction take the road with the red dots and follow.

shots 2

Image

you will as you run up the road come to the first tower on the meadow . i will most of the time ignore this unless i hear a call or see something out of the corner of my eye.

shot 3

Image

i have gone in the tower we were just looking at just to point out a few things. if you look where the red dots are thats where the animals will be most of the time if here.

you will mainly see if lucky large mule deer or big whiteys .

most of the big white tail and muleys are at the top end of the map. i will in general only stay 2 to 3 mins in a tower then leave.

shot 4

Image

after coming out the tower run staight up the road where there will be two meadows split by the road.

shot 5

Image

this is the left meadow

shot 6

Image

this is the right hand meadow

both of these meadows have something on now and again but not really worth pursuing. continue on towards the rock up the road.

shot 7

Image

if you notice on the right hand side there is a boulder. from here i will normally start my hunting.

i will often swop to my binos now and look down the hill.looking for possible animals so i dont spook them as i go down the road.

shot 8

Image

ok where i have stopped there is a little fork in the road. from here take a left into the forest.make sure you check before going in and you crouch as there are often deer or other animals close inside this bit.

shot 9

Image

shot 10

Image

as you see in the forest there will be a little ridge on your right . its like a little channel or bank use this as cover looking as you creep forward towards a boulder in front of you.

11

Image

ok now your at where the boulder is and you ll be in the middle looking at this meadow. its a very good spot and you can see most of the meadow without being seen.where i put the red out line is where most often if a animal is on here thats where theyll be.

when you ve checked go straight across the middle towards the lake.

12.

Image

once your here take the right hand side to cover yourself as you move up the road. on your left is the lake which is basically a waste of time. so carefully move up the road toards the meadow.

13

Image

remember to keep to the right and slowly look in front of you . youll mostly see animals to your left where it slops a little or straight in front or a sneaky buggar coming on your right from near the tower.

14

Image

right your at the tower remember to crouch as last thing you want to do is spook everything before you get there. this is one of the best meadows in th game so check it thoroughly

(most of us call this middle meadow)

15

Image

in the tower most animals will come from the right. you ll see some on your left aswell. listen carefully for animals walkng underneath you.

one thing to note this field from tower to the back is about 760-780 ft you wont see the animals right at the very back sometimes until you get out of the tower (draw distance). when you get out go to the left handside.

16

Image

move up to the left and ready to postion your self so you can see to your right. youll see next picture.

17

Image

ok so this is a very good spot you will often see big muleys whitetail coyotes and big elk really scan this area. when youve done move forward into the middle.

18

Image

as you can see just entering this forest in the middle like i said before be careful as you will get yotes and elk and other animals coming straight towards you.

once checked move forward towards the road

19

Image

as youll see theres a forest and a split in th road just follow the red dots up into the forest.warninng there is often animals just inside which will run as soon as your inside unless your carefull.

head through the forest until the slope.looking to left and right on way through.

20

Image

ok go down this slope be careful

prone as you reach the bottom and crawl onto the road

21

Image

22

Image

ok from here youll see this long meadow which i call elk meadow . make sure you look to your left and right as there are lots of animals. (this is probably best meadow in game)

23

Image

ok so this is on your right. there are often animals there so be careful to look before crawling forward to view the elk meadow.

next screen shot is to your left

24

Image

check the area well especially where the red dots are.

25

onto elk meadow make sure you check it well spend about 5 mins looking about in prone position.

Image

26
when youve checked there go left and up the road.

Image

follow the red dots.

27

when your here scan round for animals

Image

28

Image

go through this area following the dots.

29

Image

30

Image

31

Image

32

Image

last used to be best meadow. thats a quick little route i use i will vary it by if i see other animals but its a solid route that produces 99 percent of the time.hope it helps new people to the game and maybe some more weary hunters ;) its not the rons bible but a quick guide which will get you lots of animals including big ones.

Thanks Ron for sharing. I must admit that this is pretty much exactly the same route I also very often take. Usually, you never leave such a tour without a prey!

A very nice tour, Ron and I can confirm it is very good, - almost identical to what I doo. Very good fore the rifle hunters and there are plenty of oppetunities fore bowhunters aswell to abush/call places...

Good hunting....

Wow, it was nice of you to display all of that. That is about the same route I take about 2 out of 3 hunts.

also few more tips

if at the start of first meadow you see you miss a big animal / scare it dont worry. if you do the route then loop back to the first meadow 9 times out of ten it will be there or the middle meadow.

this also goes for if you scare a animal if its near a meadow most likely be on nearest one or near water.aniamls dont run much further than draw distannce so wait or be patient they will not be to far again.

anyone after yotes concentrate near the middle and on elk meadow and going up to the stones off elk meadow at back .

long distance shooting with the pistol on turkies at 650ft + you have to aim 1 cm above there head

300ft bow shots upto 2 inches above head

what you see at the start of a hunt is most likely dicatate what your gunna get and how the hunt will turn out. if its all females restart game . if you see nothing all way down to elk meadow restart as your just wasting your time.

if you see loads of males straight away you will probably be on what i call your "special " hunt . this is where you get all the bulls , big male tukires basically everything. once youve hunted more you will realise when this is while hunting amake the most of it by carrying on maybe with camping supplies.

if you scare turkies get your turkey caller out immedietly and rapid call the birds they drop like stones if done quick enough and wont fly hardly anywhere.

ambush hunting on beach - if you spot turkies on beach you can charge them :D they will run round in circles and panic you can get quite a few this way as they dont know where to go. sometimes works on elk aswell and other animals.

hope some of those help out . i will add more now and again ;)

I also take this route about 75% of my hunts (sometimes I vary it by going up the Causeway Path and coming down after muley meadow), but I rarely ever get something at stand 12 and Elk Meadows, which is about 180 degrees opposite to most of my hunting buddies. They keep bagging huge animals at these places, but I rarely get them over there ;-)
