Duck hunting video
The other evening we had a duck hunt in my hunting area.
We started with some walked up hunting for the ducks and after that we sat down by the water hole and waited for ducks to arrive to the water hole (What do you call that in english btw?)
I was lucky and shot 3 ducks and in total we got 10.

Not for the time. But do you have a word for waiting for ducks early morning or in the evening?

Not that I'm aware of, but you could say that in the morning they are leaving the "roost", and in the evening you are waiting for them to roost.
Roost just means : "a place where birds rest or sleep"

Sounds fitting. It is one of the most common hunting for ducks here in Denmark, just sitting with your dog and hoping for a group or two of ducks coming down.Fletchette wrote:Not that I'm aware of, but you could say that in the morning they are leaving the "roost", and in the evening you are waiting for them to roost.

Haha maybe! But sitting there with the dog and you suddenly hear the wings of the ducks is some of the most exiting times when huntingHooCairs wrote:Insanity?EmilN wrote:do you have a word for waiting for ducks early morning or in the evening?

Re: Duck hunting video
Awesome!
I don't usually get to do a whole lot of duck hunting, but when I can go, I have a blast. I can totally relate to the excitement of hearing wings overhead. Here in Michigan, we have some enormous wetlands that are fantastic for duck hunting. We also take small, two person rafts out on certain lakes and float there. When you shoot a duck, someone in the boat goes and gets it, then you swap out after a while.
