+1 this is happening to me right now, dog brings duck and they start spinning and bouncing and ends up far away from where it was dropped, very frustrating as i'm taking part in a comp
The problem is i've lost ducks because of this and after buying a dog it's not what you expect, so please fix
Edit: it seems to be a problem with deeper water as far as i can tell.

This is exactly what I've experienced. When it's not in his mouth, I'm getting the binoculars out in an attempt to follow the bird when it zips away. In my setup, it seems to happen on the birds where the dog has to enter just a bit of deep water to retrieve. Watched one bird zip around & finally land over 140 meters from my position. Once they land again, you can't command your dog to fetch the bird.Fletchette wrote:You can usually tell when it's going to happen, because the bird is not in the dog's mouth.
