Finally got my mutt up to level 50. All in all, he works very well for waterfowl, although he still misses some commands.
He's still a pain in the butt in the bush though, barking, won't stay put after a shot, constantly in the way. So I only use him for waterfowl. I'm sure their are some tweaks that can be done to make the bush experience a little more realistic and immersive.

Re: Level 50 retriever
Gratz Mike! It takes a while for sure. I have Poptart up to 28 I think and she's many times better and useful especially on the long shot comps for ducks and geese. She's saving me time now where she costs you time in the beginning and She's finding those ducks off in the weeds I would forget about but Doc didn't miss em. I hope she gains a little more distance in her locking on skill - she seems to be 100% only out to 100-130m, hopefully that improves.

Re: Level 50 retriever
My retriever is 38 and sent hound is 20. I am working to get my sent also over 30.
Passing 30 I mean they are good enough. After that I can enjoy the hunt with dog and not stressing to raise their levels.
