Decoys | Motion Predator Decoys

Post by caledonianblues »

Motion Predator Decoys
Motion Predator Decoys can be used to attract and distract Coyote, Red Fox, Arctic Fox and to some extent Bobcats as they get close enough to visually detect them. The decoy comes in the awesome " double tail", or the sleek " bunny ears" design. Motion Predator Decoys can only be placed on land.

Attraction involves the Coyote, Arctic Fox, Red Fox or Bobcat moving up to the decoys. Distraction involves them staying there for a limited period of time. The distraction can also be thought of as additional camo being added to the hunter while the animal is distracted by the decoy.

These characteristics, combined with the long range attraction of a Predator "Jackrabbit" Caller, make the perfect setup for close range hunting with weapons such as bows and shotguns.

Having multiple Motion Predator Decoys in the same spot does not increase the chances of luring the targeted species, i.e. the effects do not stack.

Gameplay Characteristics:
Attraction probability increase: 1/1 of decoy max*.
Distraction increase 1/1 of decoy max*.

*The maximum stacked decoy effect of simultaneously detected decoys.
* Attracts: Red Fox, Arctic Fox, Coyote.
* Occasionally Attracts: Bobcat.

My thoughts on the Motion Predator Decoy ( Rabbit )

Post by DYEUZ »

THOUGHTS
I bought this decoy on this past Black Friday sales event. Thought about it for a while , but never went for it .
Here are my thoughts, my review so far :
Image
- Light weight , only 0.5 capacity cost .
- No need to turn '' off / on '' .
- Can be place at 12m from any equipment ( closest ).
- Animals stand about 5-6 feet from decoy .
- Makes for nice clean shots with bows . You can make 2 kills with Parker Python bow ( maybe more ), when more than one around , before they spook . Often broadside too .
- Attracts Bobcats also .
- Coyotes, foxes , Bobcats, ALL come in slowly . Never seen one coming in trotting so far or faster .
- You can call from TS and they will go to decoy, not under you , which is very good .

Pretty much all positive for me . A very nice addition to my backpack . :P

The decoy is a must for fox and coyote hunting, no doubt about it! I got one permanent at the Golden Treestand and a second one that I carry with me whenever I'm hunting dogs. Because it's so light, you don't really need to place them permanently.

I like the Motion Predator Decoys. Gets the foxes and coyotes to stand still for a moment, just enough to get off a clean shot ;)

I see no point to this item, just an item for buying when you're bored with your money.
I just use the pred caller 30m from where I called and lay down in ambush then shoot.
Coyotes & Foxes never notice me without this item except sometimes the really big scoring ones, even then it's too late for the animal as I get off the shot before the animal spooks. :)
I have over 1337 kills with my Longbow at 100% kill rate.

Very good, same findings as Dyeuz, I use it coupled with the Bobcat electronic caller, at 20m of my tower on LP , works great for yotes and bobcat ;)

Especially handy when hunting in a comp for Fox/Coyote/Bobcat as it adds visual distraction.
