I have noticed a thing changing to the Reverse Draw Crossbow from another gun or from binocular spook blackbears over 60m away.
I was in RFF at the swamp up north I have a tower there on the east side between the swamp and the little lake with the island X-11604 Y:-4570 , barrel is set on the first little island in the swamp from there aprox.. x:-116(60-70) y:-4570.
I was in the tower 4 bears were approaching the barrel and I looked at them in the rangefinder binocular to assess the range between 60 and 70 for the two closest coming in from North East and over 100m away for the other two coming in from the West, so I change to my pre drawn Reverse Draw Crossbow not puting on arrow yet and they all spooked and ran of???
My first thought was something else spooked one bear but not all.. so I smelled a fish here,, I waited for them to return to see if I could reproduce this.
They did return eventually and now with rangefinder in my hand I waited so two of them were within 60m but beond 50m the other where still far south west maybe even close to end of render distance.
I just change to the Reverse Draw Crossbow and voila they all started to run of again... very frustrating.
I've seen this behavior before with the blackbear and Reverse Draw Crossbow but always thought at those time with only one bear visible I was the one spooking by my walking or something else, this time it was 4 different blackbears at the same time..
Think you need to try and see if you can recreate this cenario and if so hopefuly fix this, for that is not looking good
(tryed to record a video but that didn't work out as planed, comp crashed LoL.

I have not been able to reproduce this issue at all. Had a bear standing 63m from me and looking straight at the location I was sitting. It did not spook when I equipped the crossbow or loaded it, only when I started moving.

I'm pretty sure that it's designed that changing equipment is considered "movement" for the purpose of "visually" spooking animals.
However, the situation you describe: 60m, bears to the west (upwind), and in the tower which is supposed to have "Very Good" visual camo this does not seem right.
I've found that 60m is the usual threshold for spooking black bear when on the ground & crouching (B&C camo, so no visual protection from bears).

It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!

I've only reproduce the scenario two times after but not as bad as that first time, might just be a weird hiccup... it seem to be very random.. !?!
A delayed response from something I did just before it happens, I'll try to apply more notice to what I am doing before if it happens again.
