Wouldn't this just be an Elk comp? I don't know what the highest scoring 10pt Red Deer would be, but I think the smaller deer (Mule, WT, BT) couldn't compete with Elk.

Could be seen that way i suppose. Though i find it more difficult to call an elk in close that a big muley. Or it could be limited to the Mule Wt Bt Sitka and Red

I suspect no matter what animals, one would stand out as having the highest score for a 10 pt.

But I do like the idea of limiting it to only 10 pt trophies. It adds a nice level of challenge. My luck I'd have a 16pt WT walk in with a 10pt & have to let it go. Or track it down afterward.

I like the basic idea - how about changing it to:
- only animals with ten typical points count
- the competition score is the sum of their weights
- only the heaviest harvest of each species is counted.

The problem is: it's much too complicated for the "official" competition routines and for a community competition, checking all score sheets (for ten pointers) will be a pain. But interesting idea indeed!

After some thought to revision regarding the score differences between species, I think the best course would be to divide the species into their own competitions.
This would ease the work load on organizers dramatically, or rather spread the work load out over many weeks as each species would have its own comp duration.
Doing this would affect the possibility of having a 10 day event however, but se la vi.

As for verifying the 10 point buck, I'll request that a picture accompany the submission. A side prize could be issued for best pic during the event.
If there are any other thoughts or concerns that need ironing out please let me know as I would love to make this happen.

It could be one of each (total score or weight). Or it could be 10 of one species.

Or it could be left as designed & just accept that it will be narrowed down to one species. I think it would be one of the Elk, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
The leaderboard Roos. Elk is a 433, but it's a 8x8. Not sure what the biggest 10pt would be. On the other hand, the leaderboard Muley is a 5x5.

For verifying (community comp), you can just look at the score sheets. It shows the number of points on each side.
And you only have to verify the winners.
As a community comp, you would have no way to award 10em$.
And checking for SP is a bit tedious.

Should be interesting! :)
