I am just using some head plugs brought from a service station and they pick the noise up ok! This has been one of the best threads yet interm of being helpful. Look what the original statements were and now with everyone's help he shot 24 in one hunt! Good stuff team. :) that noise is the key to shooting lots of them!

I'm curious, for those of you who can hear the "shingles" sound 100m away, do you hear it over the sound of your footsteps, even in crouch mode? I'm hard of hearing, so like Hawkeye, I have the sound all the way up. But it makes my footsteps so loud, many times it's all I can hear.

IMO they seem fairly easy if you crouch around and listen. They are actually very populated, just very skittish. And you can hear them walking from about 80 meters. So just crouch and listen, they are surprisingly everywhere, just open your ears.
