I'm not sure if this idea has been put forward before, but I reckon it would be awesome for bears to leave clawmarks on trees, which could be used as a form of tracking them. This is a way that bears mark their territory irl, and it would also look quite cool. Of course this would be a fairly rare occurrence, and animating the bear actually scratching the tree would be a bit tricky, but I think that it would add another layer of realism to the game, which would be great. Here's an example:
Anyone with me on this?

Re: Bears leaving claw marks on trees
I don't think this is something really necessary for the game, sorry.

I know this doesn't anything to this conversation, but I misread "Bears" for "Beavers". I should really take a nap now.
As far as marks on trees go, I'd be all for it, but I doubt it will happen.
