.22 LR Bird Cartridges

Post by BCKidd »

Federal .22 LR # 12 Bird shot calibre cartridges, would be a nice addition to ammunition for the .22 LR. Up here in Canada this type of cartridge is used often for grouse, ptarmigan etc. Look out pheasants if we ever get this ammo! ;) Peace.

Rat-Shot......Bounce off a pheasant.

BTW, these usually won't cycle through a semi-auto.

Weren't these made for indoor mouse shooting? I would find a 9mm Flobert pretty amusing.
It can shoot 9mm pointed and round bullets as well as shells with 2mm shot.

More like for chasin' the neighbors dog away from a chicken-coop. I have used them for grouse tho', but as mentioned we haven't a single shot .22. So, your 9mm would probably be better- and yes amusing. ;) Peace.

Many, many moons ago, when I was in Cub Scouts or Boy Scouts, we used to shoot these .22 bird-shot at clay pigeons. It earned a Merit Badge, but I can't remember what it was called. I'm thinking it was called "Muskette", or "Musquette", or something like that. A Google search isn't helping, but of course this was LONG before the internet was around and ruining everything.

The point is, the above critters are pests... and these shells are used for pest control.  Sarcasm folks. I'm actually surprised that very few jumped on this. ;) Peace.

Last time I tried those blue capsule .22 shot shells I couldn't drain a solo cup at 10 foot. Not sure how anybody ever killed anything with em. Maybe the other shells work better.

I think it's CCI that makes a .357 shotshell that uses #9 shot. I feel that would have more of a place in the game over the .22 rat shot.
