Yeah, I think an AR based .300 Blackout or .308 would be pretty awesome too. Would also love something in .338 Lapua.pirahna590 wrote:I'd LOVE to see an AR based in .308, .300 Blackout, .45 Raptor, .450 Bushmaster and or the .50 Beowulf

I think the .340 Weatherby is EW's answer to the call for a .338 ... as if they couldnt get licensing for it or something

You are probably correct, pirahna, they are basically the same size round aren't they?pirahna590 wrote:I think the .340 Weatherby is EW's answer to the call for a .338 ... as if they couldnt get licensing for it or something

pound for pound, the .340 is a .338, but with a bit more powder and 200 - 300 more fps at the muzzle. They share the same sized bullet loads, 200gr, 250gr and 300gr bullets, the difference really only shows at greater distances, beyond 300 yardsArcheriusRott wrote:You are probably correct, pirahna, they are basically the same size round aren't they?pirahna590 wrote:I think the .340 Weatherby is EW's answer to the call for a .338 ... as if they couldnt get licensing for it or something

Re: What Weapons Would You Like To See?
Weapons I'd definitely buy:
1) A modern bolt action 30-06, maybe based on the CZ 550, Tikka T3 Hunter, or the Howa 1500 Hunter. Walnut stocks, blued barrels, so pretty.
2) A .375 H&H Magnum. This is a classic big game rifle, widely regarded as the most versatile of hunting calibers since it's legal and powerful enough to use on Africa's Big 5, but also used on plains game. In terms of application it is similar to, but ballistically superior to the 9.3x62, so it could have the same set of allowed animals. Of course it should be based off of the classic Holland and Holland sporting bolt action.
