that's what i was thinking yes , but in such case maybe they could find an agreement . 9.3x74R is too powerful for pigs and 8x57 a bit to light IMO so only remaining is 7x65R

I don't understand what you mean about 8x57 JS being a bit light for pigs? You mean on 8x57 JRS? What do you mean about 7x65R? I don't understand.

for the IG pigs which are most of the time very big not to say gigantic , i think the 8x57 is a bit short . but i don't say 8x57 is a bad ammo IRL for pigs . concerning 7x65 i heard lot of boar hunters were using it so that's why i though it could be a good choice . best would have been a 9.3x62 for that kind of weapon (IMO) , but don't know if such weapon exists

I don't have any problem with 8x57 JS and wild boars in the game, or in real life. For break-open rifles, 9.3x74 is very popular cartridge for hunting wild boars in Europe. I think we need it in the game. Also, 7x65R, .30 R Blaser and 8x57 JRS are also great. No doubt about that.

There is nothing wrong with the 8x57 for any in game animal. I really do not see why you would think that jpm1.

you are maybe both right (and probably right ;)) . but the bullet is smaller than 9.3x62 one and thus makes me think it has less impact power at short range , and the cartridge is smaller than .300 one which makes me think it has less accuracy and less impact force than the .300 . at long range . but if you tried it IRL i won't contradict you . pigs are very resistant if you don't have the good gun they'll go die miles away or maybe survive the shot . but if you say 8x57 is a good cartridge for boars IRL i thrust you ;)

In game the 9.3x62 has the most impact damage at any range, the 8x57 has less than the 9.3x62 but more than the .300.

Bigger is not always better! Cartridges like 7x64, .30-06 and 8x57 JS are sometimes too much (for European game). My father used to say: " Son you don't need anything stronger than 6.5x55 or .308!". Believe me, he knows what he is saying. Needless to say that 6.5x55 is used on moose in Scandinavia. Good shot placement is the key, it doesn't matter which caliber you are using. Here is the good article about feral hog and wild boar cartridges:

Did you by any chance compare 8x57 JS Anschutz with K98k?
