Rocky mountain elk roaming after death?

Post by Columbo »

I was playing a single player game yesterday at TgT. I shot a RME crossing a river, using the 454. El Bisonte and he died instantly. I couldn´t harvest the body as the water was too deep to get close enough. Took a walk away, harvested a wolf meanwhile and came back to the crime scene...

There was no sign of the bull and i started a search. Found a dome from the other side of the river and it stated that the exact same RME was roaming (only some minutes ago). Tracks were heading uphill and I followed them for sure. It took me a while to track him. Finally found him stone-dead in the middle of a meadow. Harvested him and Huntermate stated that wound time was 0.0 seconds, yet the place I found him was at least 200 meters away from the original place of kill not to mention all the roaming tracks

I haven´t done many walks away from dead animals outside the render range, but I´m guessing this isn´t that normal???

If the animal moved after it died, it sure isn't normal :D. I'll take a look at it! Thanks for reporting!

Haha, maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to come back to life. :)

Nice ideas folks! I thought he was the remnants of the Halloween event :D
Sounds too weird to be true, but I just had to believe it as i witnessed the situation with my own eyes. Score sheet shows that he was killed into the river.

I'm going to guess that because you left the area, the deer floated to the shore, and when you returned, he ragdolled and bounced as ducks sometimes do when retrieved.

I'm thinking this is what actually happened.
