Missing infos...

Post by DYEUZ »

EW, since when do you miss writing such important rules in a comp ?
Looked at some of the same genre , and they all have that infos on main banner .

If you strickly go on main page of comps and activate from there , like i did , you might miss important rules ,like i did .
Harvested a F pig with arrows and did not count . Of course it did not count ! :?

Please make addition of rules above . tyvm .

I would say from a design point of view, it's probably not possible to include all of that information in the summary. At least not without making it look like a dog's breakfast. I would also have only a short summary there, with the requirement to click through for more detailed information.

That's just me though. I prefer to make things look minimal and force the user to click one more time for additional info. Perhaps not the best user experience, but aesthetically it would probably be much worse if you splatter everything on the summary page. Plus you wouldn't see as much on the screen which would mean more scrolling.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm sure it's one of those situations where it just comes down to personal preference, and I'm often guilty of creating pages that seem obvious and logical to me, but they end up not being intuitive to the end user.

In my opinion the problem is that some competitions include all the necessary information in the summary, but some (few?) don't. It would be good to have some consistency here, so people either know that all info is in the summary or everyone gets used to looking at the details below. Right now it's not consistent and I've also fallen into that trap already. :o

It's consistent if you always just look to be sure ;)

if the activate tab was a hotlink to the full page to sign up instead of simply going down the list joining ever comp available people wouldn't make these mistakes and place in comps they didn't know they were in
