Game Crashing on loading screen

While I'm waiting for an answer from support, I thought I'd see if anyone else had my same problem and/or found a solution.

Problem is this: Go to startup the game normally through steam. Open launcher and everything's fine. Click the start game button, loads the game for a couple of seconds, then crashes to the launcher, "an error occurred, see support section for more information". No usual error code, no other information, just says an error occurred.

Have reinstalled (even installed the non-steam version, same exact issue), restarted, and verified the game files. Interesting thing is, whenever I verify the files, it always has the "one failed to validate and will be reacquired" even after I verify, and restart the machine.

Has anyone experienced this same problem?
