Crashing during load

I bought a new laptop so I can still play games while traveling. I fired up theHunter but it doesn't even get to the music playing. Load screen appears for a few seconds before vanishing, with the launcher telling me an error occurred and dxdiag running itself. No further details on what the error is. No problems with COTW and a few other games I have installed. Anyone any ideas what may be the cause?

EDIT: It was an anti-aliasing issue. Game is loading fine now.
