Re: Launcher Failing to install.
It's a windows error.....Usually rebooting the computer will fix it.
If not, post back here.

Still not working, now it goes to the point of where the error message text would popup but just disappears. When I try to play it says "patching" on the "play now" button

That kind of makes sense, because I believe the other error "5" is "Access Denied" reported from windows.TehBeerHunter wrote:Still not working, now it goes to the point of where the error message text would popup but just disappears. When I try to play it says "patching" on the "play now" button
Kill the launcher, then try turning off your anti-virus and firewall, it's probably stopping the patch. Then restart the launcher to see if the patch starts applying. If it works, don't forget to turn you AV and firewall back on.
If all else fails, uninstall theHunter, delete theHunter folder in "Program Files (x86), reboot, then reinstall theHunter.

Re: Launcher Failing to install.
It was probably trying to patch the entire time, but behind the launcher. That would be why it said patching on the hunt now button.
As an FYI, when you have a game update and it says "got it" and that you can do other things, don't. Any time I tried, it ended poorly. Now when I open the launcher and it shows a game update, I just let it do it's thing until it is done and says ready.

The above statements are strictly my opinion, and should not be taken as fact, even if I believe them to be true.

Re: Launcher Failing to install.
I've had the "Start Game" button read "Patching" a few times in the past couple of days while no patching or updating was going on.
Refreshing the launcher by clicking the top left tH logo would always fix this.
