Re: 2017/2018

A very precise bullet I can recommend is the RWS H-Mantle. I've shot that for a while out of my 7x65R. I found it way too aggressive and explosive for my taste -at least at the speeds of that caliber. Might be that it's a different story with slower cartridges. In that gun, I am shooting now -or ac...

Re: 2017/2018

Very nice boar and Fox, Moosehunter! How's the geco plus working for you? I've switched to it in my 8x57IS since I wasn't too happy with the Sellier&Bellot Spitzer 196grs. It simply shot all over the place out of my gun. Before I shot the Geco Softpoint, which was simply a bit too simple a bulle...

Re: Game Update 20th December 2017

Thanks for the update. Bug fixes and senseful tweaks are always welcome, please keep them coming! Merry Christmas everyone! Ah, and a note to all those people posting reindeer pics: the forum has very useful spoiler tags. I know that warning others about potential spoilers isn't a big thing in here,...

Re: New backpack

Good idea! If it had sufficient water capacity it could even work without requiring any user-intervention. That way it would satisfy the players that don't appreciate the new overheating mechanic, and it would also allow them to wear whatever they want, as long as they carry the backpack. I have su...

Re: 45.70 for Sambhur

I think if people thought about it fairly, this would explain a number of the apparent inconsistencies in the permitted lists, dating back many years. I see where you are coming from and understand it to a degree. But on the other hand I cannot really overcome myself and accept it as an argument. T...

Re: 45.70 for Sambhur

Just hunted sambar with the 7mm. All but one animal winded up as bodyshot. We REALLY need something bigger for these guys! I got a leg shot from a broadside shot behind the shoulder. I am pretty certain there's some buggy calculation of the terminal ballistics going on. Besides that I fully agree w...

That'd be the 9.3x64, not the old 9.3x62.

However, it still doesn't make much sense for me that it is permitted for bison but not water buffalo.

Re: Why the 9.3x62 is not allowed for water bufflo

It is certainly true that most PHs would send you straight home if you'd come with your 9.3x62 to hunt cape buffalo with them (and assumably the same for water buffalo). It is also true that historically, the 9.3x62 has been used to take down plenty of those beasts. But the part that confuses most h...

Re: Traps?

I agree that trapping is an integral part of the hunting world and can be plenty fun when done in reality. However, I don't see making rounds to check the traps making for a good game. Trapping is strategy and as a game it simply doesn't work, IMO. A game would need to be extremely complex and mimic...

Re: 2017/2018

As I plucked it's feathers later that day, I saw that only two of the size 1 pellets had hit the bird. I must've over read that the first time. That's quite big for waterfowling, isn't it? I am only very occasionally bird hunting, but my friend use size 3 or 4 even for geese. "Deckung trumpft ...
